FAQ of Tests in bulk

1. Ovulation tests

Q: Can I use Tests in bulk's ovulation tests to avoid becoming pregnant ?

A: No, ours tests should not be used as a contraception method.

Q: Are your tests as good as the ones found in phamacy ?

A: Our tests are the same as the ones you find in a pharmacy.  The are 99.9% reliable.  The only difference is the packaging, the plastic shell (open the shell of a pharmacy test and you will find the same strip) and the price ;)

Q: Does alcohol or medication affect the test result ?

A: No but you should contact your doctor if you're taking a medication containing hormones.  He will help you understand your result more efficiently.

Q: Why not use the first urine of the day ?  What is the best time to test during the day ?

A: We don't recommend using the first urine of the because of it's concentration that could give false positive.  For best result, use urine that will be taken between 10 am and 8 pm.  You should test at the same time everyday.

Q: Will my liquid intake affect the result of my test ?
A: A large amount of liquid intake could dilute hormones present in your urine.  It is best to limit your consumption of liquid 2 hours prior taking your urine sample.

Q: How long will a line stay visible on my ovulation test ?

A: A positive line will not disapear and should be read 3 minutes after taking the test.  The line might become darker over time and a light tint might appear on a negative test after a few hour.  Some test might devellop a gray tint from a chemical reaction but this line should not be considered to be a positive.

Q: A pale pink line appeared where a positive line should be.  Am I ovulating ?

A: A pale pink line does not mean that you are ovulating, but you are producing the hormones nessessary to ovulate.  It is just not enough to allow the ovulation to happen yet.  You should test again later during the day or the next day.  If that line never darkens a few months in a row, you should talk about this with your doctor.

Q: Yeah, my test is positive !  When's the best time to have sexual intercourse ?

A: Your ovulation should happen between 24 to 36h following your positive test.  You are now in your most fertile time of the month.  Sexual intercourse is advisable !

Q: I'm using the sympto-thermal method (temperature charting). Will these tests replace that method ?

A: The difference between these methods is that one tells you the ovulation is coming (ovulation tests) and the other confirms the ovulation occured (sympto-thermal).  Some woman find it difficult to plan their intercourse using the temperature method but combined with the ovulation tests, it makes a complete profile of your fertility.

Q: I got a positive ovulation test and had sexual intercourse but I,m not pregnant.  What can I do ?

A: Many factors can affect your fertility.  A couple without fertility problems can take months to achieve a pregnancy.  We reccomend using the ovulation tests for a few months and to keep them with a clear mention of the dates where they were taken and a history of your "baby dancing" during that month.  Our Fertility Booklet (in french only for now) was specially designed to help you keep those tests and your notes. If after 6 months of failed attempt and confirmed ovulation, you should take an appointment with your doctor to eliminate any possible sources of problems.

Q: I got a positive ovulation test and had sexual intercourse during my fertile period.  I think I,m pregnant.  How can I tell ?

A: Tests in bulk,s pregnancy tests can detect a pregnancy at 20mIU/ml/hCG, which means at about 10 days post-ovulation. We do reccomend testing after the first day of missing your periods for a precise result.

Q: I take Clomid or any other fertility drugs.  How will that affect the result of the tests ?

A: Clomid can give you a false positive if you test too early in your cycle.  Talk to your doctor to know the best way to use ovulation tests with your medication.

Q: I got a positive test yesterday and one again today.  Is this normal ?

A: A few woman gets positive 2 days in a row, rarely 3.  These results could indicate the rise and drop of the hormones in your body.  It does not mean that you ovulated twice.

Q: What happends if  the tests do not detect an ovulation and my temperature chart does ?

A: It is possible to miss the surge of hormones in your body.  If you test shows a line that is positive but not quite there yet one day and the next day, the tests shows a pale line, you are probably ovulating.  To make sure, a lot of woman start testing twice a day as soon as their line get darker and darker.  Be aware that a diluted urine can also be the cause.
